Puppy Passion

So I am embarrassed to admit that we finally gave our two cats the boot.  I know pets are long term responsibilities but I couldn't keep two cats that totally destroyed our house.  Especially when we are doing a major, professional renovation of out basement.  At last count they had totally destroyed a couch, a loveseat, 6 dining room chairs, 2 living room chairs and two tall bar stool chairs.  Yeah...good times.  They were (as Dewey says) sent to the farm team.  They are now living at Nana's farm.

You would think that since our less pet experience was less than stellar that we wouldn't be in any hurry to get a new pet.  That is partially true.  Dewey would be happy if we never, ever had another pet.  Nicole, Evan and I beg to differ!  Nicole waffles between asking for a hedgehog, a puppy and a hamster.  I would like a small dog & Evan would like something....anything....."Where are my kitties??????"

So what do you think?  Am I crazy for wanting a little dog?  I know they are more work than a cat though they can be trained (definitely a plus).  It's probably a moot point anyway because this is yet another question where Dewey's answer is firmly in the "NO" category.
