Rodeo Time!

This post is a bit late.  We actually went to the High River rodeo last Saturday but I had so many other things to post about this one got delayed.  The company I work for sponsors one of the Chuckwagon racers so we had a large customer hospitality event on Saturday.  There were lots of adults, loads of kids and hamburgers & hotdogs for all.

Rodeos are questioned by many because they have parts that could be a bit animal unfriendly.  I try to stay out of the debate because rodeos are a large part of the Alberta culture that I now live in.  There are many activities that surround the rodeo that we love to participate in but sometimes at the rodeo I do cringe.  I guess my "cop out" thought is that the rodeos are going to go on whether I am there or not so why make me & my family miss out on all the fun.

What do you think?  I know many people in the blogosphere have firm beliefs on this and also don't go to the zoo, the circus, etc but I can't summon that much passion or energy about this (or many other debates).  I would love to hear your thoughts (but no rants or personal attacks please).
