While you're here......

It would be awesome if you would:

Follow me on Google Friend Connect (see right sidebar on my blog)

Vote for Evan's picture in the Bowe's Photography photo contest (we are REALLY behind)....first go "Like" Bowes Photography on Facebook, then find Evan's picture (look for Merry Spooner Kuchle or click here) and "like" it.  I know, I know, it's a lot of steps but I'll really appreciate it!

What Will I Be Doing in 2011?

>> Saturday, January 01, 2011

Growing up we always said "Whatever you are doing on New Year's Day is what you'll be doing the rest of the year."

I sure hope not!

If so, I'll be.....

Getting up at 11:30am (slightly hungover).

Driving to pick up Evan in Strathmore (about 30 minutes from Calgary).

Listening to Evan cry and scream all the way back to Calgary.

Eating at Fat Burger....onion rings are yummy so that might be okay.

Going to Future Shop & Walmart (I hate big box store shopping!)

Purchasing an Xbox which was dead on arrival.  Taking it back to Walmart.....

Playing with Evan......okay I'll definitely be doing this one!

So what did you do today?  Would you want to do it every day for the next year?

365 Day Photo Project - I will post pictures on here most of the time but you can also see my pics on Flickr.  Here's my first one for January 1, 2011.

Post Christmas Hangover - An iPod Photo Holiday Review

>> Tuesday, December 28, 2010

Please forgive me....all of these pictures were taken with my iPod Touch. I promise to download pictures taken with an honest to goodness camera soon but not right now.  :)

First we headed to Cluny, AB to see Nana & Papa Don.

We visited our friends Lindy, Adrian & Matt....and took pictures of their trees....then I got busy talking & drinking Grantinis so no pictures to be found of them.

Santa brought Evan Kung Zhu hamsters.  They are very cute but also very noise especially when they are buried in a bag on a bumpy car ride.

I started learning to knit. I still have a LONG way to go though!

Evan and Nicole LOVE their Pillow Pets....It's a pillow, it's a pet...it's a PILLOWPET!

Evan didn't do nearly enough of this.

We drove across the prairies to visit Dewey's Dad though at times I would have sworn we were on the moon.

Though the sunset sure was pretty.

That's is a REALLY long road!

All those toys & Evan wanted to play with a spray bottle & the dish brushes.

He *may* have subsisted completely on sugar through the holidays.

We managed to put together this monster 1000 piece puzzle while at Nana's.

Ugh...here's the pile of STUFF that needs to be put away.

And don't forget the laundry. Thankfully Nana did a bit for us before we left or it would be twice the amount.

Oh and this guy....I threatened to sell him to the gypsies at least two or three times per day.  Too many new people + too little sleep + too much sugar left us with a crabby little boy! (Who has now woken up & is screaming at me because he wants to go to McDonalds.)

So how was your Christmas?

Wordless Wednesday - Atomic Zombies Are Cool

>> Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Awesome Graffiti art in Downtown Edmonton.  Love it!

Atomic Zombie is a tattoo parlour.  I would totally get a tattoo if I could decide on something I really want permanently etched on my body.  So....do you have a tattoo?  If so, what & where (if you tell).

Wordless Wednesday - Peach Pie Baking

>> Tuesday, October 19, 2010

When we were at Nana's for Thanksgiving, she made peach pie for dessert.  Evan wanted to know if he could help.  Nana had an even BETTER idea....he got to make little pies all his own.  He was so excited and they turned out great.  Though Evan much prefers pumpkin pie so I got to eat the tiny peach ones.

Family Photo Time

>> Saturday, October 16, 2010

It's that time of year again!  The time to torture my family while trying to decide what we're going to wear for our annual family picture.  I get blank stares every time I say things like:

"It doesn't have to match, it just has to go!"

"We can't all wear brown!  We'll look like a big mud puddle!"

"Help! I don't know what to buy Will & Nicole that they'll actually wear!"

I look at other people's pictures and they are so darn fashionable and it makes me want to somehow morph my family into that family.  Here's the thing, though, we're not that family.  Hell, half the time Nicole's hair isn't even brushed!

So I am going to try my best to not freak out & remember that regardless of whether our pictures look like a fashion plate or not....we will still have a snapshot of what we looked like in 2010 because time flies and we'll never be here again.

So do you take a yearly family portrait?  Does it stress you out?

If you live in Calgary....we are using Pink Antler Photography.  Her pictures are awesome.  I'll post my pics as soon as I have them.

Don't forget that if you are on Facebook you can "Like" my blog page and get updates in your Facebook feed!  Just click HERE and then click "Like" at the top of the page.
